ClearContext 2.0 beta now public

ClearContext version 2.0 has been opened up for public beta testing. This new version expands on the inbox management capabilities introduced in version 1.0 and tackles the larger issue of managing time and tasks that inbound messages precipitate. Features in the new version include:

Defer messages for later consumption
Create follow-up reminders
Generate tasks and appointments from email
See a consolidated view of the information in Outlook via our RelatedView and ActionView buttons

I've been working with the beta for a few weeks and have found it to be very stable and quite useful. There's still no IMAP support, so my testing has ben somewhat limited but I like what I see. The new version is a powerful platform for productivity, especially when combined with the ClearContext ActiveWords Agent. Read more abut the new version on the ClearContext blog.

1. This looks like the Netcentrics GTD Outlook plugin with references to the David Allen workflow taken out.

2. Marc, as someone drowning in email, I rely on your blog for heads-up about products that can help. Activewords is amazing. You should talk a look at Jetbrains Omea some time - it has the ability to convert emails into tasks, but extends that by also managing RSS feeds and newsgroup posts. The categorization scheme is pretty slick. There's a 2.1 version in Beta right now which allows for tree-structured to-dos. I purchased ClearContext, but prefer Omea to manage the inbox.
