Over at PalmAddicts, Sammy recounts an
interesting story from Peter Arts
who was stuck in traffic behind a big accident. He snapped some photos with his Treo's camera, e-mailed them to his
boss and asked for suggestions about what to do. His boss replied that, as there were problems with the air
conditioning at the office, Peter should work from home. He used his Treo to find an escape route and got out of a
sticky situation.
Amazing, really. Only a short time ago, this sort of real-time dialog would have been impossible. As I've observed in
my More Space essay and the speaking engagements I've recently conducted on the topic of "Work is Broken", the question
"How different is the Treo (or a similar converged device) from the communicator or tricorder in Star Trek?
