No, I'm not going to get all obsessed about my new Treo 650 and overwhelm you with posts but I have had
about a dozen people e-mail me and ask how I like it so here's a brief update. So far, I am very impressed with the
device overall. I've installed a few essential applications and am currently evaluating an RSS reader that looks pretty
nice.
I'm currently trying out QuickNews from Stand Alone which allows me to subscribe to my favorite blogs and update them either when I sync to my Tablet PC (through its connection to the net) or directly over the Sprint network. It has a pretty good user interface given the limitations of the small screen except for the cumbersome way you have to tap around to actually delete a feed. Anyone have another RSS reader for the Palm they really like?
I have Gmail set up with the bundled e-mail app, VersaMail and it works OK. The Treo screen is a pretty limited landscape for reading e-mail but it gets the job done when I'm out and about. I got a recommendation to try SnapperMail and I know iambic makes an e-mail app as well so I may do some additional investigating in this area after a while.
As far as productivity apps are concerned, I'm giving the upgraded Palm applications a go before I decide whether to install either KeySuite or Agendus Pro (both of which I own licenses for already from past Palm devices I've used). PalmOne has done a nice job updating the built-in apps - they're decidedly better than the previous version that came with my lat Palm device - the Sony Clie UX50. But both KeySuite and Agendus offer more tightly integrated views of calendar and task information than the Agenda view in the built-in calendar application so I'll probably break down and install one or the other of these third-part solutions before too long.
Of course, I've installed Bejeweled2 - the most addicting handheld game ever. eReader is installed for reading eBooks and I upgraded the bundled Documents to Go to the latest premium edition.
Other than that, the only purchase I've made is a USB charge and sync retractable cable so I can juice up my Treo on the go and use it as a modem when I'm in a WiFi-less location with my Tablet (or an airport where they insist on charging $7-10 for less than an hour's access - I hate that).

1. Glad you're enjoying Quick News! We've gotten quite a bit of feedback on the 1.0x versions, and we're working on a new version that offers quite a few improvements. Easier feed deletion is one of these. If you shoot me an email, I can send you a beta.
Thanks for the input!
