According to a
Business Week report
Best Buy announced that they will phase out the use of mail-in rebates over the next two years. While I've personally
never had a problem getting a rebate check on any of the purchases I've made at Best Buy, this is one of the
least-loved marketing techniques out there and I won't be sorry to see it go away. Best Buy said it would put more
promotional money into their Rewards Zone program instead. It will be interesting to see how this works out and whether
other big box retailers follow suit.
