MSNBC reports today that a new study reveals that 77% of home PC users are wrong in concluding that they are safe online.
Internet users at home are not nearly as safe online as they believe, according to a nationwide inspection by researchers. They found most consumers have no firewall protection, outdated antivirus software and dozens of spyware programs secretly running on their computers.
The study, being released today, was conducted by America Online and the National Cyber Security Alliance. If you're
reading this, you're probably technically knowledgable enough to not be connecting to the public network without
adequate protection. Do a friend or family member a favor and help them secure their PC with the free tools available
to prevent virus and spyware attacks.
