If you're one of the growing number of people who have temporarily or permanently changed your default browser to
Firefox and you get an Open dialog popping up every time you click a link in an Outlook e-mail message, here's a
fix:
Remove the checkbox "Use DDE" in Folder Options -> File Types -> URL:Hyper Text Transfer Protocol -> Advanced
-> Edit: "open".
Do the same for URL:Hyper Text Transfer Protocol with Privacy.
DDE stands for Dynamic Data Exchange - a technology that allows two running applications to share data. After
unchecking the DDE box, click OK twice just to get back to the "folder options" window. At this point if you go into
"advanced" and "edit" again you'll see the DDE box is already checked again but the association has been changed to
Firefox.

(Page 1)2. I'll look into it. BTW folks, if you use NewsGator in Outlook, Grant was instrumental in helping make the right-click "Subscribe in NewsGator" extension functional in the latest 0.9x Firefox releases. Check the NewsGator support forums for details.

1. The problems with FF url handling can also manifest themselves even deeper. The shell extension fixed an outlook problem but not other wierdness. There's a registry fix floating around called FixHttpHandler.reg that seems to have squared things away.
